TITAN Cement Group is seeking to hire a Concrete Lab Manager (CLM) providing full technical support to responsibilities related to Head of Unit Concrete and Aggregates.
The role will be responsible to ensure efficient, safe and uninterrupted operation of the Group Concrete & Aggregates Laboratory and will be part of Group Research, Innovation and Quality department, reporting to Head of Concrete & Aggregates Unit, based at Kamari cement plant.

 

The position is based in TITAN Kamari Plant, in Greece.

 

What you will be doing
•    Coordinate and manage activities within the Concrete & Aggregates laboratory facility of TITAN Group Engineering & Technology corporate function, to ensure safe and uninterrupted laboratory operations, at superior level of performance.
•    Oversee safety and security of laboratory facilities by ensuring proper application of all relevant Health & Safety regulations and guidelines, in addition to maintaining current knowledge of all relevant protocols, regulations, standards, and safety procedures. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, risk assessments and similar documents.
•    Plan and utilize laboratory assets in a careful and efficient manner to provide timely and accurate analytical services according to business needs. Perform and document routine advanced quality assurance and preventive maintenance, as necessary. Manage inventory and specimen handling, including the selection, purchase, storage, and allocation of laboratory equipment, supplies, materials, and data analysis tools.
•    Provide technical support for laboratory equipment, supplies, and data analysis tools, in addition to managing internal records and documentation. Responsible for laboratory equipment, supplies, and data analysis tools including inspection, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting.
•    Manage financial activities and/or reports pertaining to the laboratory, as well as assist in the preparation of budget estimates.
•    Oversee and support personnel functions including interviewing, selecting, training, supervising, evaluating performance, and/or developing staff, work schedules, and assignments. Organize staff meetings and coordinate training and services for staff support.
•    Contribute to the implementation of new concepts, products and processes, including product development in collaboration with Business Units (BU’s) and other corporate functions, focusing on concrete and aggregates.
•    Support and contribute to benchmarking or similar efforts to maintain implementation of best practices at concrete & aggregate laboratories across TITAN Group in line with internal standards and international or local regulations, emphasizing on accuracy, repeatability and functionality, ultimately aiming for superior customer experience and compliance, particularly on new product offerings.
•    Collaborate with project teams across TITAN BU’s to deliver results in a goal-directed, time-conscious and structured way, managing cross-functional interfaces.
•    Provide clear and concise status updates to management regarding progress on projects.
•    Maintain an insight on important developments within the sector, and disseminate knowledge within the team in a timely manner.
•    Provide innovative perspective on technical and scientific issues to colleagues.

 

What you will bring
•    Master’s Degree preferably in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Science with a proven working experience of at least four (4) years in relevant positions in research or industry
•    Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with proven working experience of at least eight (8) years in relevant positions in research or industry
•    Technical proficiency in concrete and aggregates, with strong preference for hands-on experience in concrete manufacturing. Work experience in Ready Mix Concrete operations, as well as demonstrated experience on accreditation and quality control systems are considered most appropriate and preferred
•    Demonstrated capacity in project management, processes, and tools, including planning and tracking progress, timelines, and budgets
•    Fluent in English and in at least one other EU language
•    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
•    Working experience of relevant laboratory information management system (LIMS) will be considered very positively
•    Demonstrated writing competence (e.g. professional, scientific publications, reports) and a breadth of scientific knowledge outside of core specialty
•    International travel will be required (estimated less than 10% of the time)
•    Military obligations fulfilled (*if applicable)
