JOB DESCRIPTION

Operations Supervisor - Alternative Fuels

 

Titan Florida, LLC has an immediate opening for an Operations Supervisor - Alternative Fuels for our Pennsuco Cement Division in Medley, FL.  This salary exempt position is assigned to the Alternative Fuels and Materials department and will report to the Operations Manager. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform all required safety checks and follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure proper functionality of the Alternative Fuels equipment installed at the Pennsuco Plant and seek to maximize the throughput in coordination with plant production staff and maintenance management.
  • Coordinate logistics for material deliveries and maintain communication with Alternative Fuels suppliers and trucking companies.
  • Maintain records of inbound materials and utilization of such.
  • Generation of daily, weekly, monthly, annual reporting to titan leadership
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment to include ensuring proper disposal of waste material.
  • Learn cement chemistry and production process in order to optimize the Alternative Fuels utilization.
  • Observe operation of equipment to ensure continuity of flow, safety, and efficient operation, and to detect malfunctions
  • Make recommendations on how the system should work and how changes in condition, operations and the environment will affect the operations.
  • Clean, operate and maintain Alternative Fuels equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Schedule, plan, coordinate all alternative fuel area maintenance outages with plant personnel and contractors
  • Maintain open line of communication with the maintenance department to ensure that they are made aware immediately if corrective maintenance is required.
  • Determine root cause of operating errors and the corrective actions necessary.
  • Examine feedstock material to ensure conformance to established standards.
  • Activate controls to start, stop or adjust the equipment via the control panel. Monitor the control panel to ensure system is working properly.
  • Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing if required
  • Provide Control Room and cement plant managers with information regarding the Alternative Fuels system operations.
  • Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions that needed to improve or correct performance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Safetyminded.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.  Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish will be a plus.
  • High School diploma or GED; or 3 or more years related experience and/or training.
  • Understand the technological process of Alternative Fuels Installation through training on such equipment on site.
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and of related safety practices.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safe operations for the protection of people and property
  • Knowledge of feedstock materials, PEF production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of PEF.
  • Basic numerical skills
  • Ability to operate personal computer and knowledge of basic computer applications, including computer generated parts and service manuals. Must be able to enter and retrieve data from a computer.
  • Maintain a current Florida Driver’s License and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Capable of working in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work overtime, on-call duties and beeper when necessary.
  • Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk or hear.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 50

 

Shift:

Must be able to work weekends and overtime as necessary.
