Interbeton Building Materials has an excellent opportunity for a Concrete Engineer located in the Athens Head Office. The position reports to the Quality Assurance Manager for Concrete Operations. The core responsibility of this role is to undertake all activities relating to the quality characteristics of the concrete produced at regional production facilities and/or projects.


Main Responsibilities


  • Develop new and optimize existing ready-mix designs
  • Oversee all elements related to quality control and technical aspects of products
  • Develop and maintain QC Plan for all regional production facilities and projects
  • Assist with the development, administration, implementation and documentation of material control plans and related material performance data, procedures, and project-specific quality control.
  • Initiate production adjustments
  • Provide “troubleshooting” guidance and advice, for various customers both internal and external.
  • Technical material performance support and expertise provided for all plants/projects in regional area.
  • Recommend and assist with plant changes to ensure conformance and consistency
  • Be on site for project startup operations to ensure contract compliance and facilitate cooperation with project staff and project-owner representatives
  • Investigate and analyze quality issues, then recommend corrective action to be taken
  • Develop processes, procedures, and policies related to production and product quality
  • Perform field and lab testing as needed
  • Recommend/Prepare/Develop mix designs to ensure compliance with project specifications, sustainability goals, and materials margin
  • Manage costs associated with laboratory and quality control programs, scheduling, budgeting and forecasting
  • Coach and guide others in achieving the highest quality; includes providing process personnel with tools to monitor and improve quality
  • Instill a quality mindset and customer service orientation into everyone associated with our products
  • Ensure that all project Health and Safety standards are met
  • May be required to travel to different construction sites up to 25% of time



Candidate Profile


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant Quality Assurance or Civil Engineering Construction experience
  • Experience in concrete works, maintenance, and finishes
  • Knowledge of industrial concrete manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of concrete testing and quality control procedures
  • Ability to comprehend and develop contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
  • SAP Experience will be considered as an asset
  • Knowledge of Project Management and CAD packages will be considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills 
  • Proven communication & cooperation skills
  • Solid research and analytical skills with great attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Military Service fulfilled (if applicable)
